Peru terminates anti-dumping measures against China's stainless steel tableware

On July 14, 2021, the Dumping, Subsidies and Elimination of Non-tariff Trade Barriers Commission of the National Bureau of Competition and Intellectual Property Protection of Peru issued Announcement No. 202-2021/CDB-INDECOPI in the official daily newspaper El Peruano, which was decided From July 20, 2021, the extension of the 004-2002/CDS-INDECOPI announcement and the extension of the original product by the 082-2011/CFD-INDECOPI announcement and the 136-2017/CDB-INDECOPI announcement will be terminated. On June 7, 2001, Peru initiated an anti-dumping investigation against stainless steel tableware originating in China.


On February 19, 2002, according to Announcement No. 004-2002/CDS-INDECOPI, Peru made a positive final anti-dumping ruling on the case, and formally imposed anti-dumping duties from 9.01% to 830.77% on the products involved.


On July 17, 2011, Peru’s original Dumping and Subsidy Supervision Commission passed the Announcement No. 082-2011/CFD-INDECOPI, extending the validity period of China’s anti-dumping duties for the products involved in the case for 5 years and adjusting the anti-dumping duties to 1.64 US dollars per kilogram.


On June 12, 2017, the Dumping, Subsidy, and Elimination of Non-tariff Trade Barriers Commission of the National Bureau of Competition and Intellectual Property Protection of Peru issued Announcement No. 136-2017/CDB-INDECOPI, deciding to maintain the anti-dumping duties of the products involved in the case unchanged, but the FOB price Anti-dumping duties are not levied on the products involved in the case higher than 18.4 USD/kg. The ruling will take effect on July 19, 2016, with a validity period of 5 years.
