The Difference Between Hot-rolled And Cold-rolled Stainless Steel
The difference between hot-rolled and cold-rolled stainless steel
The difference between hot rolling and cold rolling of stainless steel is that cold rolling is performed on the basis of hot rolling.
Cold-rolled: processed and rolled on the basis of hot-rolled stainless steel sheets and coils. Generally speaking, it is a process of hot rolling/pickling/cold rolling. Although the steel plate will heat up due to rolling during processing, it is still called cold rolling.
Due to the continuous cold deformation of hot rolling, the mechanical properties are relatively weak and the hardness is high. It must be annealed to restore its mechanical properties, the annealed city is called a hard rolled coil. Hard-rolled coils are often used to make products that do not require bending or stretching.
Feature:
1. The hardness of cold-rolled steel plate is low, and the price is more expensive due to a certain degree of effort;
2. There is no oxide scale on the cold-rolled surface, and the quality is good;
3. Cold deformation products have high size purity and good surface quality;
4. Cold rolling is widely used in various fields of life because of its production process, such as various cold stamping parts, cold-rolled cold extrusion profiles, cold coil springs, cold drawn wires, cold heading bolts, etc.
Hot rolling (hot-rolling): Relative to cold rolling, cold rolling rotates below the recovery temperature, while hot rolling rotates above the recovery temperature.
Feature:
1. Low hardness and surface flatness, and low value;
2. The hot rolling temperature is similar to the forging temperature;
3. The hot plate is hot rolled, with oxide skin on the surface and different plate thicknesses;
4. Due to its production process, it is used in many civil fields, such as kitchen utensils, general household appliances, etc.;
5. The mechanical properties of hot-rolled steel sheets are much lower than those of cold working and forging, but they have good rigidity and flexibility. hope this helps you.
