201 is an austenitic, nickel-reduced grade (ASTM A240): 16-18% Cr with nickel partly replaced by manganese and nitrogen (3.5-5.5% Ni, 5.5-7.5% Mn). It keeps a bright, ductile surface and good formability at roughly half the nickel cost of 304, making it the value choice for indoor and decorative use.
